Sol LeWitt (1928-2007) is one of the most distinctive and influential artists of the 20th century.
He shaped and defined many of the century's most cerebral "isms" notably minimalism and conceptual art.
His large scale "wall drawings" destabilized and expanded the conventional definition of authorship - many of his works were created as the result of elaborate instructions rather than his own hand and labor.
We are especially fond of his hard-edge geometric compositions - such as this excellent example in candy colors.
This particular work is a paradigm of LeWitt's work from last decade of his life.
